Price for this job
How it works
Twenty-five 18 x 24 inch signs is 75 square feet. At $1.25 a foot with 15% waste plus a $0.90 stake each, that costs you $130.31, or $260.63 with a 100% markup. Three minutes each at $85 an hour is $106.25, so the job comes to $366.88, or $14.68 a sign. These are examples. Put in your own costs, and check what your market pays.
What to watch on yard signs
Sheets, not square feet. Blanks come in sheets. Eighteen by 24 inch signs get ten to a 4 x 8 sheet, so an order of 11 buys you a second sheet with nine signs' worth of offcut. Know where your breaks fall, and quote quantities that use the sheet.
Both sides. Printing the second side usually means more ink and more handling. Price it as its own option and customers can see the choice.
Rush orders. Elections and open houses come with tight deadlines. Decide on a rush charge before the phone rings, not while you're on it.
