Price for this wrap

How it works

Covered square feet is the vehicle's size times your coverage. Material is that area times your cost per foot, plus waste, plus markup. Print and install are minutes per square foot at your shop rate, and design is hours at your shop rate. The price is all of it added together.

With the numbers filled in, a cargo van is 340 square feet. At $3.40 a foot with 20% waste, film costs you $1,387.20, or $2,774.40 with a 100% markup. Print and install at 3.5 minutes a foot and $85 an hour is $1,685.83, and three hours of design is $255, which comes to $4,715.23. These are examples, so put in your own costs, and check what your market pays.

Where wrap quotes go wrong

Square footage guesses. The vehicle sizes above are rough starting points. Measure, or use a template for the exact year and model, especially on high roofs and long wheelbases.

Install time. Compound curves, rivets, door handles and removing old vinyl all add time. A prep charge for old graphics keeps a bad surprise from coming out of your margin.

Waste. Paneling and bleed use more film than the finished area. Twenty percent is a common starting guess, and a lot of shops find their real number runs higher on complex vehicles.

Design rounds. A wrap design can eat hours. Say in the quote how many rounds are included.
